DOROTHY PORTER Obituary

DOROTHY MARJORIE PORTER (nee CATTEN) November 19, 1923 - February 22, 2017 Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at West Oak Village Long Term Care in Oakville. Predeceased by her husbands Jim and Fred. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Anne and Jennifer (Richard Moore) and by her grandchildren Elizabeth Smith, Peter and Andrew Moore, Bryan and Robyn Whitney, their father Dave and by her 5 great- grandchildren. Dorothy was a longtime Thistletown resident and a member of the Franklin Carmichael Art Group. She was an accomplished artist and an excellent cook who loved to entertain her many friends and family. Every spring her rock garden was a joy to behold and her home was full of her beautiful paintings, pottery and woven work. Special thanks are extended to the staff at West Oak Village where Dorothy spent her final 5 years. A Memorial Service will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior. A reception at the funeral home will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society. Please visit the Book of Memories at www.wardfuneralhome.com
