Douglas Carter Obituary

DOUGLAS (DOUGIE) CARTER 1950-2012 Doug passed away peacefully at the age of 61, at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital on Sunday, February 5, 2012 of cancer. He is survived by his loving daughter Chelsea, sister Linda and her husband Alan Shibinsky of Toronto, brother Richard and partner Susan O'Dell of Kingston, brother John and wife Val of England, niece Jessica and her husband Branden and great nephew Ewan, nephews Andrew and Matthew, niece Kelly, great niece Kyla and great nephew Joshua and predeceased by his loving parents, Nora and Jack of Montreal. He will also be deeply missed by Chelsea's mother Mandy and her sons Dario, D.J. and Christopher. His friends Karl, Anne Marie, Donnie, Sharron and Tim are a few of the many close friends who will cherish fond memories of Doug. A special thanks to Dr. D. Melnychuk, and the nursing staff for their compassionate care, Pavillon D, 8th floor. Doug was extremely happy when his beloved Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup last year. Montreal will not be the same without Doug's infectious humour and big heart. A mass to celebrate Doug's life was held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Verdun on Saturday, February 11, 2012. God bless his soul. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
