DOUGLAS FEGGANS Obituary

FEGGANS, DOUGLAS CAMERON October 28, 1950 - February 28, 2023 It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Doug, at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, from complications of kidney cancer. He was an extraordinary husband and amazing father and will be forever loved by Donna, his adoring wife of 40 years; daughters, Erica (Tyler) and Stacey (Ashton); and his grandchildren, Blythe, Elodie, Cameron and Avery. He was predeceased by his parents, Lea and Bob; and his brother, Kerry (Maria). He will also be missed by his brother, Roger (Sandy); brother-in-law, Rick (Judy); his nieces, nephews and many colleagues and friends. Doug was born in Hamilton, Ontario, and had a successful career in the transportation industry in Toronto until his retirement in 2016. He was an avid golfer, but his main passion was community theatre, both performing on stage or directing musicals and plays. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 5th, at Meadowvale Theatre, 6315 Montevideo Dr. in Mississauga, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The "Show" will begin at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 or www.wallcustance.com). Donations can be made to Kidney Cancer Canada or Hospice Wellington in his memory.

Dear Donna,

My wife & I were very sad to hear the news of Doug's passing. We want to extend our sincere condolences to you & your family. Doug was a very nice person both professionally while working in our steamship line industry & as a friend when watching his plays at the theatre or playing golf together. May he rest in peace.

My wife and I were saddened by the news of Doug's passing. Doug was a great mentor (in the theatre life of Mississauga), a fine acting and directorial talent, and a dedicated leader in the live theatre life of Mississauga. In fact, theatre was very much a Feggans family affair with a decades long commitment from Donna, Erica and Stacy as well as Doug. The Feggans family commitment to the cultural life of our city has been an inspiration to me and our family. We had the great fortune to share the theatre life for a short time with Doug and his family. Thank you, Doug, for so many wonderful theatrical moments and for so graciously welcoming my sons into your world.
