He always seemed to be celebrating, adding so much to the great atmosphere at The House--my granddaughters are big fans--he always had a joke or two ready for them--I'm grateful to have known him even a little, sad and shocking to lose him.

The world is a poorer place with the passing of Duncan - during his time at the Feathers, both the staff and regulars just adored Duncan, can't recall anyone not liking Duncan. RIP my friend.

Everyone who made the HOP their favourite place to meet, eat and relax over a drink will know that Duncan effortlessly made people feel welcomed and important. He was a special and unique man. We will all miss him.
We are thinking about every one of the wonderful staff at HOP who will miss Duncan terribly. We are so sorry and send our heartfelt condolences to you, his family as well as the many patrons who always enjoyed his company.

We are shocked and saddened to hear about Duncan. For years and years on Saturday nights at the House he welcomed our entire league into his place at a time when we weren't often welcomed at other places around town. His absolutely open welcome and support were incredibly important to many of us. We will never forget his optimistic view of life, always with his unfailingly good humour and grin, even when we arrived Sunday morning to pay that forgotten tab! Acceptance can't be legislated, it is personally given and Duncan led the way and made us all feel loved and accepted. We go forward now passing this around Toronto, accepting others the best that we can, his influence in our lives. We remember and we miss you Duncan. Rest in peace.

I met Duncan on a casual walk with my husband, Brian, who used to work with him. He was the most personable and friendly person I ever met. He will be greatly missed. RIP Duncan from the both of us.

I am sending a message of love and compassion to Laura and Duncan's family for the sudden loss of Duncan.
I have known Duncan since grade 10 at Malvern CI. Laura Duncan and I have had many memorable times together. Full of laughter and more laughter.
Duncan was my prom date because neither of us had one, so why not. He was a gentleman with the ability to make anyone feel special. Every time we saw each other it was a warm hug and a "how you doing" he was kind to my children and myself he will be sadly missed by me the Beaches Community and all the people he loved and that loved him.

Words can't express the loss of such a vibrant, caring, fun loving, kind, funny, smart and handsome guy who was a friend to all and made friends everywhere he went Duncan your smile lit up any room you came into and your brilliant sense of humour was only one of your many amazing attributes!! My heart breaks for the guy who I was lucky and blessed to have known since grade 9. I've had the pleasure of travelling with Duncan on the BBC Old Boys Hockey Tours. Duncan was always a favourite of mine.
