DYMPNA BEXFIELD Obituary

BEXFIELD, DYMPNA FRANCES (nee COYNE) Died peacefully on September 23, 2022, at the age of 97, at her home in Oshawa in the company of her daughters. She was the loving wife of Richard Bexfield for 67 years, till his death in 2017. Sadly, she was predeceased by her son, John (Shirley) in 2019. We were fortunate to have our mother for so long. She was a character - a great nurse, artist of many mediums - most notably China painting, lifelong learner, involved Granny, helpful and supportive Mom. Her family spent many summers at our favourite spot, Cawaja Beach, enjoying the water by day, happy hour before supper, and in the evenings, she taught the grandchildren how to play rumoli and poker, something the next generation will be learning as well. Left with sweet, fun, and loving memories of her, are her three daughters, Patricia (Martin), Joan (John), Sheila, ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, as well as her three remaining sisters, Reta, Norah and Angela and many nieces and nephews. Roses on your pillow, Mom. There will be a private celebration of life at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.newcastlefuneralhome.com This life for me has truly passed, I loved you all till the very last. Weep not for me, but courage take and love one another for my sake.

I have such lovely memories of your Mom (and Dad) part of the "Trueman Avenue Gang". I have a lovely pitcher that she gave my Mom (signed!) and I love it ( a beautiful blue with red strawberries, dated 1975). All of us who grew up on Trueman will always have our memories of the best neighbours ever. Your Mom will be greatly missed and I send my deepest condolences to all the family.

I still have a small china sugar dish painted by your mom that she gave me back in our high school days and am so very grateful for it. No one ever really knows how many lives are touched by just one person...

I remember Dympna from our high school days at Mimico High School during the war. We lost track of each other when I joined the CWAC in 1944. Eleanor Kennedy Thomson
