I only knew him for a short while but from the instant we met - he made an impact. I am sorry for the loss of this hilarious individual with a great, jovial personality. I will miss him.

Dear Colin, Vivian, Brett, Trevor and family members,
We are saddened to hear of your loss and our thoughts are with you.
We have such a great memory of Earl at Sur Lac in Niagara modelling some wonderful hats. A number of us had great fun trying on the hats that Earl and Colin had obtained from the Heaslip Hat Co. when it was going out of business. I think one of them ended up as Vivian's for a special occasion...was it for Brett's wedding? I remember that I was coveting the hats, and on Earl's recommendation Jerry took myself and his mother hat shopping. We came away with 10 hats total, but I do think Earl looked better in the ones he modelled than I ever will in the ones we purchased!
Thinking of you all,
Ann Tassonyi & Jerry Darcie (Niagara)

What else can be said of Earl. It has all been said already. What a great guy. He was definitely a highlight on any trip to The Point. I met Earl and John at a Spearhead Bear weekend many, many years ago. They were among the first to welcome me on my visits to Toronto.
My sincere condolences to Colin and Gord and to all of his extended family. Prayers to all.
Kindest personal regards,

Myriam

I am so sorry to hear of Earl's passing. He was a good man and someone who could be counted on when support was needed. Earl, you could have the room in stitches and often did. You could also be there to share a tear. You could be counted on. I'm glad to have had you in our family.
Colin, Brett, and Trevor, you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. These words don't express my sadness.

I called Earl "the Voice" of the Point, but in many he ways he was the "Heart" of the Point. His ability to show true concern of the welfare of others made him a special man.

Will miss you, you are in my thoughts, Colin.
