THOMSON, Edgar Bonnick (Ted), CPA, CA - November 30, 1922 - April 17, 2015 Peacefully in his 93rd year at the Southlake Regional Health Centre. Beloved husband of the late Marion Mortimer Thomson (died February 17, 2012). Adored father of Patti (Thomson) MacNicol and Janice (Thomson) Goodrow and her husband John. Extremely proud and cherished grandfather of Meghan, Cameron, Colin and Brian MacNicol and Martha, Hilary and Barclay Goodrow. Also survived by his sister Eleanor David and her husband Merfyn. An alumnus of Parkdale Collegiate, Victoria College at the University of Toronto and Clarkson Gordon, Ted spent his entire career on Bay Street. He was the Secretary Treasurer of A.E. Ames & Company Ltd., where he worked for over 30 years. Following the merger of A.E. Ames with Dominion Securities, he moved on to the newly created role of Corporate Secretary of Pitfield MacKay Ross and then concluded his career as the Executive Vice-President of the Financial Executives Institute (FEI) of Canada. Ted served as a Governor of the Toronto Stock Exchange and held a variety of other Board and Committee positions with the Investment Dealers Association, FEI and Victoria College. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West at Windermere, from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral service will be held at the Cathedral Church of St. James, 65 Church St., at the northeast corner of King and Church on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 2 p.m. Cremation.
