EDITH SERNAS February 14, 1928 - October 28, 2013 It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to Edith, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. As she wished, Edith was able to be cared for in her own home until the end. Her life was her family. She leaves behind her loving husband of 53 years, Gytis Martin Sernas, her daughters Asta (Vic), Vida (Alan) and Silvia (Alvin). She was the devoted and much loved Nana to her seven grandchildren, Daina, Vytas, Erika, Aleksa, Romas, Serena and Andrius. Edith also leaves behind her sister Gerda Sillaots, sisters-in-law Irena, Aldona and Jone, brothers-in-law Jim, Paulius and Valentinas as well as many nieces and nephews. The last year and a half Edith was lovingly looked after by her daughters and caregivers Kathy and Mariquita. Their compassionate and expert care will always be remembered and appreciated. Friends will be received at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., Toronto, Sunday, November 3rd from 2 - 5 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 4th at 11 a.m. at the Lithuanian Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 1691 Bloor St. W., Toronto. Interment at St. John's Lithuanian Cemetery, 2185 Stavebank Rd., Mississauga. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Karaliauciaus Krasto Lietuviskoms Mokykloms or Labdara Nursing Home.
