EDWARD REITER Obituary

REITER, EDWARD December 3, 1956 - December 5, 2020 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Edward Reiter on December 5, 2020 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband to Tammy for 37 years. Loving father to Justin, Stephanie (Adi), Kimberly (Jesse) and Leora (Andrew). Devoted son to the late Morris and Sarah Reiter. Dear brother to Sydney (Rhonda). Caring son-in-law to Susan and the late John Karol, brother-in-law to Robert (Marlene). He will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephew, cousins, and close friends. Ed proudly served his community as a dentist for over 40 years, caring deeply for his patients and colleagues. He was an avid golfer who cherished his friendships through the sport. Nothing gave him more joy than spending time with his family. Our heartfelt gratitude to the team at North York General Hospital for their compassionate care. Memorial donations may be made to the Intensive Care Unit at NYGH: https://nyghfoundation.ca The funeral service will be livestreamed. Please go to https://smclive.ca/ at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 7th.

I was a patient of Dr Reiter. I looked him up because I thought so much of him and was sad to see he passed. I was a 14 year old immigrant from Scotland living in Brampton and he had his work cut out! We didn't have good teeth. To cut a long story short I am a Dentist now in the UK and admiring him helped me on my unlikely journey.

Hal and I are so sorry to hear about Dr. Reiter (Eddie as Hal called him). He had been our dentist for near 40 years and as someone else commented, going to the dentist is not always pleasant, but our,s was. We enjoyed our little chats about family, golf and vacations. Our sympathies to his personal family and his professional family. He will be missed.

Dr. Reiter was my dentist for over forty years. He was also the dentist for my children and grandchildren. Going to the dentist is never a pleasant experience but when you saw his face it made it tolerable. We soon became friends and would have chats about where we were going or had been on vacation and how the grandsons were doing at wrestling. I would like the family to know what a caring and special person he was and I will miss our talks. Anne was always giving us heck for laughing and being rowdy. He was a special person who was very proud of his family and will be missed. My condolences to the family. Sorry for your loss.
