TOBIN, EILEEN GLENNY 1917 - 2021 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Agnes Glenny Paul Tobin, on Thursday, April 22nd. She was the adored wife of the late Patrick Tobin, the loving mother of Brian Paul (Karen) and Cheryle Schindler (the late Gordon), the shining star and ally to her five granddaughters, Kristen, Brenna, Amy, Meredith and Sarah and the doting Nana to nine great-grandchildren. Eileen was a much-admired and unforgettable aunt to nieces and nephews across Canada and in the UK. Eileen was born in Montreal and though she left Quebec in 1956 and lived in four provinces over her lifetime, she was always a Montrealer at heart. The eldest of the Glenny girls of NDG (the late Dorothy, Beverley, and the late Carole) she cherished her parents and siblings. The raucous Christmas parties of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s are much retold memories for the Pauls, Ryans, Glennys and Saunders families. Eileen had a decidedly artistic nature and an eye for colour. Her shoes always matched her purse and jewelry. Every drawer and cupboard in her home was a marvel of organization and no meal was complete without a dessert. She cooked, baked, sewed, knitted, painted, wallpapered, and decorated creating a warm and welcoming home for the many dinners and parties she hosted with Pat. She danced and golfed into her 90s, she even ran a B&B in Blackpool England for a few years! She loved to travel, especially to England and across Canada. Her last road trip with Pat occurred when they were both in their early nineties and took them from Vernon, BC to Toronto, ON. Eileen was an extrovert who enjoyed a good laugh and loved to meet new people, gathering friends everywhere she went and retaining them for years. She will be greatly missed by many! A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made in Eileen's name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the
Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to McEachnie Funeral Home, Pickering Village. Online condolences may be made at
