ROWLAND, Eleanor Joan (Pal) (nee Elsegood) - It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Eleanor on October 22, 2008, in her 81st year, following a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer. Lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Grant Wesley, her daughters, Judy (Gerry) Allen, Joan, and her son Scott (Michelle). Remembered also by her grandchildren, Mark Allen, Heather (Mark) Zschocke, Blake Rowland and Lisa Rowland. Eleanor will be truly missed by "the sisters" - Evelyn Carthew, Dorothy Taylor, Margaret Knott, Rose Kasperski and was predeceased by sisters Irene Mizzi and Edna May Elsegood. The family thanks those very special people on the palliative care unit at the Grace Hospital for bringing compassion and dignity to mom's final days. My thoughts and prayers go out to my dear great uncle, cousins, great aunts and grandmother at this time.

Aunt Pal was one of the kindest and fun-loving people you could ever meet. The annual family reunions up on Canal lake with she and Uncle Grant created many fond memories for our family - right up to her 80th birthday last year! This is a lady who was at her husband's bedside every day without fail during his lengthy recovery from cardiac surgery. She was truly a courageous person and I admire her ability to carry on despite many health challenges over the past few years. She will be greatly missed. Thanks for making so many good memories Aunt Pal!
