BEARD, Elinor Grace (nee Rossiter) - Passed away in her 93rd year on October, 2, 2012, former teacher with the East York Board of Education. Predeceased by her husband John David Beard. Mother of David (Jean) of Aurora, Donald (Heather) of Toronto, and William (Janice) of Thornhill. Grandmother to Adam, Jennifer, Jessica, Ashley and Stephanie. Dear sister of Ruth, Edith (predeceased) and William (predeceased). The family thanks the wonderful and caring staff at Thorne Mill on Steeles for the excellent care given to our mother these last 4 years. A private family service to celebrate mom's life will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Giffen Mack Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave., Toronto. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be made at www.giffenmackdanforth.com

We were saddened to hear of your mother's passing. Our thoughts and hearts are with you as you take comfort in and give thanks for her long and well-lived life. You were there for her all along the way as she navigated so many of life's ages and stages.

be comforted in the great memories your mom left you with. I reflect back on the Y days in East York in the sixties. She raised great boys! I remember your mother as a great teacher and a kind, caring person. I always remember having a conversation with your mom in regards to my mom and dad being very conservative and how they were raising three outgoing off the wall sons. Still pretty scary, we are still off the wall and doing our things.
Thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
