Elizabeth McClean Obituary

MCCLEAN, Elizabeth Lynn - Passed away peacefully, on Sunday, January 25th, 2009, at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Alliston. Liz was a loving and compassionate person who will be dearly missed by her husband Jamie, son Cole, parents Colman and Grace Borbas of St. Catharines and many friends and relatives. A teacher and guidance counselor at Banting Memorial High School, she also taught at Bradford District High School. Prior to teaching, Liz was a Police Constable with the Peel Regional Police Force. Liz enjoyed life to the fullest, even during her 8 year battle with brain cancer. Special thanks to Dr. Mason, the staff and the incredible volunteers at the Pencer Brain Tumor Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital for their great support. The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, 905-936-3477 on Friday, January 30th, 2009 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. James Church, Colgan, 11:15 a.m. Saturday, January 31st, 2009. Interment of cremated remains will follow in St. James Cemetery, Colgan. Donations in Liz's memory to the Gerry and Nancy Pencer Brain Tumor Centre or cancer research would be appreciated by the family. ( www.rodabramsfuneralhome.com )
