Elmer E. Haney

HANEY, Elmer E. - Peacefully, after a brief illness on December 13, 2010 at Scarborough General Hospital in his 87th year. Devoted husband of Margaret for 63 beautiful years. Wonderful father to his only daughter Glenda (Keith Corby). Loving grandfather of Rebecca and Graham. Predeceased by brother Winston (Esther, deceased) and survived by siblings Reta (Ken), Gordon (Irene), Joyce (Les, deceased), Reg (Tina) and Gary (Sharon). Elmer will be sadly missed by a great many nieces and nephews and was like a brother to his sisters-in-law Norma and Audrey. He served in the Royal Canadian Dragoons in WWII and worked for CP Rail and its affiliates for 40 years before his retirement. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion 1-42 for approximately 25 years as well as a longtime member of the Tam Heather Venerables Curling Club. Friends and family may gather at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Rd., 416-267-4656, on Wednesday, December 15th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, December 16th from 10-11 a.m. Service immediately following.
