ELSA HOPLEY Obituary

ELSA HOPLEY (nee AMBROSE) Passed away peacefully at the age of 102 on April 26, 2014, wife of the late Clive Hopley. Beloved mother and mother- in-law of Elson and Irene Horbowy of Beaconsfield, QC and Patricia and John Korenic of Richmond, BC. cherished grandmother of Stephanie (Andrew Knup) and Natalie, and great-grandchildren Mason and Dylan. Elsa will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Through her love for people she touched the lives of many. Her infectious smiles and hearty laugh will be missed. Special thanks to the staff at Manoir Pierrefonds for their kind and loving care. Visitation will be at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 222 autoroute 20, Pointe-Claire, QC, H9S 3X6, 514-483-1870, on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edmund of Canterbury Church, 105 boul Beaconsfield, Beaconsfield, QC, H9W 3Z8. Burial will be at the National Field of Honor in Pointe-Claire. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Alzheimer Society.

My sincere condolences over the loss of your Mom. I remember her well from Montreal East and have to admit that she looks the same now as I remember. I regret that I didn't have a chance to see you and say Bye to your Mother.

My heartfelt condolences to Elson, Pat and their families. Auntie Elsa was there when I was born at home, while Uncle Cleve was keeping time. My middle name, Patricia, was given at your request, Patsy. Auntie Elsa was my protector, always coming to my defence when faced with my childhood nemesis. (You know who you are, Elson)
Now all we are left with are the memories. Although very happy ones that make me laugh, they make me feel lonely and sad.
It is truly the end of the Champetre Street era.
