Emma Chitussi Obituary

CHITUSSI, Emma Brooke - Tragically on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at the age of 23. Beloved daughter of John and Heather. Loving sister of Adam and his wife Melissa. Cherished granddaughter of Ninfa and Ciro Chitussi and Shirley and the late Frank Kelly. Emma was adored by her aunts, uncles and cousins. She was a loving and caring person, a "fashionista" who had as many friends as she did shoes. Emma loved to travel and made friends wherever she went with a smile that would light up any room. She will be greatly missed by so many, including her dog Cyprus. Friends may call at the PINE HILLS VISITATION, CHAPEL & RECEPTION CENTRE (625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, north of St. Clair, 416-267-8229) on Tuesday, October 13th from 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Service to Celebrate Emma's life will be held in the Pine Hills Chapel on Wednesday, October 14th at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Emma's memory may be made to the Lion's Foundation of Canada (152 Wilson Street, Oakville, Ontario, L6K 3H2 Canada 1-800-768-0303) for support of seeing and hearing guide dogs or to the Breast Cancer Research and Education Fund (366 St. Paul Street, St. Catharines, ON L2R 3N2 905- 687-3333).

To the Chitussi family:

I'm saddened to hear of this terrible loss, and I want to extend my sincerest condolences to the family. I went to school with Emma in elementary school and I remember that she smiled virtually all of the time. Many people enjoyed her company and I am sure that lasted throughout her years. I will be praying for her family, friends, and for Emma herself. May God comfort you.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I work with the Support group of L-1 where I had the opportunity to work with your daughter over the Summer months. Even though we worked in the same group, our interaction was limited Emma always quiet had a smile that could brighten a room and was always willing to help. Thogh Emma continued on to school, her pressence is still felt and our hearts now go out to her family and friends. She is missed by many and will be rememberred always.

You never get over the loss of someone you love but you do learn to get through it - it doesn't get better, it just gets different each day.

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, know that stars are really openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are okay and resting safely in the hands of God.

Love is immortality, and Emma is forever loved by so many.
