ERNEST JAMES HILLS 1948 - 2016 On Monday, July 11, 2016, after a valiant 10+ year battle with cancer, Ernie passed away at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 41 years, Christine, his daughter Oriana and her husband Matt, his grandson Theodore (and Baby Bumblebee), his son Nathaniel and his wife Miranda, as well as his grandson Leo. Ernie was a true renaissance man; he had a long and accomplished career teaching classical guitar at the Royal Conservatory of Music. During that time, he also studied, performed and perfected the long-lost art of renaissance and baroque lute, which culminated in a recording and a performance at Carnegie Hall. In later life, Ernie transitioned into a successful and well-loved Real Estate Agent. Ernie grew up in Deep River, Ontario and never lost his love for the outdoors, especially fishing and motorcycling; he begrudgingly leaves behind his prized Harley Davidson Sportster.
