DR. ERNEST LEWIS

DR. ERNEST LEWIS December 15, 1933 - September 16, 2015 Passed away peacefully just after midnight on September 16, 2015, at Ian Anderson House Hospice in Oakville, Ontario at the age of 81. Beloved husband to Carol (Humphries), father of Linda Forder, Dr. Jacqueline Lewis (Minde Lawson) and James Lewis (Heidi Schwartz Lewis). Beloved grandfather of Sean, Lauren, Noelle and Sarah Forder and Anabelle and Christopher Lewis. Ernie received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto in 1957. He practiced dentistry for 44 years, the last 23 of which he limited his practice to Endodontia. He taught at the University of Toronto and served as: a Clinical Board Examiner for the Royal College of Dental Surgeons; President, Director and Charter Member of the Halton-Peel Dental Association; Fellow of the American College of Dentists and a Charter member of the Peel Health Council. Ernie will be remembered for his love of golf, fishing and hockey. He was an active member of the Mississauga Golf and Country Club for 52 years. His long service as the official dentist for the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team and for Team Canada during the Canada Cup Tournaments and early World Championships in Europe brought him many years of joy. A reception will be held in Ernie's honour at the Mississauga Golf and Country Club, 1725 Mississauga Road, Mississauga, Ontario L5H 2K4, on Sunday, September 27th from 1 to 4 p.m. A toast in Ernie's honour will be made at 3 p.m. The family is grateful for the wonderful care he received at Ian Anderson House Hospice.
