FRANCES MCKEOWN Obituary
FRANCES (FRANKIE, FRAN) MCKEOWN Passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital, Midland, ON, March 20, 2012. Dearly missed by daughter Jenni MCKeown, son Paul MCKeown, daughter-in-law Brenda, granddaughter Sarah (MCKeown) Marcellus and her husband David. A very special "Frankie" to Shannon Marcellus. Predeceased by spouse, Richard Allan, in 2009. She will be greatly missed by her family in England - Dagmar, Sue, Celeste (Roddy), Ben (Sarah), Joyce, Brian (Barbara), Emily and Katy. She will also be missed by her wonderful friends and neighbours on Armadale Ave., especially Heather, Gary and Tina. Born in London, England, she immigrated to Toronto with first husband, Joe (Mac) and their children in 1955. Soon after, she was hired by the CIBC Toronto Head Office, International Department. She also worked part-time for many years in the small electrical appliances department at Eaton's Queen St., where she met her good friend, Benita. She loved the British Show, watching Coronation Street and her regular holidays in England. She made a life for herself in Canada but her heart belonged to England. She loved being with children, doing crosswords, reading poetry and quoting silly rhymes. She was very young at heart and always the life of the party. As she did not want a funeral, her ashes will be scattered into the sea at Felixstowe, Suffolk, England and then we'll go to the pub to raise a glass to her. "Bottoms up, Frankie!" We would like to thank the staff at GBGH, 2 East for their compassionate care. If desired, memorial donations to the GBGH Foundation will be received by Nicholls Funeral Home Cremation Centre, 330 Midland Ave., Midland, ON L4R 3K7, 705-526-5449.
