Mrs. Fernan and family: Very sorry to hear of Mr. Fernan's passing. I was his secretary at the P.O. I remember one time he brought in a tape for me to type out and it had him singing on it. He was teaching Jamie the song, "It's a Grand Old Flag". I wasn't sure how I was going to tell him! He was a good man and I enjoyed working with him. I am lifting your family up in prayer.

Love & Prayers to you all. Art was a always a light to be around. He will forever be known to me as the "tickle machine" & a fabulous cook who was so passionate in whatever he did. So many fond memories with you all growing up, camping, & New Years Eves. Although we are all grown, you are all thought of often and we are praying for you now.

To All the Fernans, Kate, the kids who are now grown, the grandchildren: My condolences on the death of your husband, father, grandfather. Art and I go way back. When he was in high school. He and I were Hibernians together. I was a president before the
aOH moved to the West Side. He and I had some great discussions about things and the way they should be. we disagreed a lot but we never got mad at each other no matter how stupid he thought my idea was. He worked to make the Div 1-Broome County into the fine organization that it is today. Besides the AOH, Art was first a family man. His family came first. He also was a devout man who held his Religion and His God in high esteem. I am sorry that I will not be able to be there for his final commitment but I will be there in spirit. May Our God give you the graces you need as you walk through this valley of tears. May that same God and His Compassionate Son keep us in their Loving care until we all meet again in the land of Tir n'an Og.
