FREDERICK EDWARD SHIPMAN Born in Brooklyn, NY, on September 15, 1916. Passed peacefully on December 20, 2014 in Tonawanda, NY, with his beloved wife Theresa by his side. Will be dearly missed by his children Fred Jr. (Marion), Ruth Ellen (Danny), Bill (Daye), Leslie (Vincent), Betty (Simon) and good friend and former wife Ruth Shipman. Proud grandfather of Jesse and Daniel Shipman (mother Kathryn Lennox), Robin (Valerie), Jasmine and Ivy Neeson, Erin (Jay), Stevie (Dan) and Billy Shipman, Lee and Emma (Adam) Colucci and Kate (Josh) and James Bolter. Also mourned by his step-sons Michael (Gail), Randy (Lisa, deceased) and Scott Weaver and grandchildren Jessica (Manny), Stacy and Brandon (Laura), Katie (Dan) and Sarah. Proud great-grandfather of fourteen. Dad was an active golfer, bowler, dancer, swimmer, all of which kept him vibrant throughout his 98 years. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26th at Lester H. Wedekindt Funeral Home, 3290 Delaware Ave., Kenmore, NY, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 27th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 2368 Eggert Rd., Tonawanda, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care, Kenmore Mercy Hospital or a charity of your choice.

One of my earliest memories of my "Uncle Freddie" was when he took me to the Ringling Bros., Barnum & Bailey Circus in Madison Square Garden. As the first child of the next generation I went many places, but they were adult places, and he realized that what a little girl might like to do was go to the circus. It sounds like he kept his playful nature throughout his 98 years. With loving memories, Betty Sue
