Anne, Teri, Mike and family. Russ and I are so sorry for your loss.

We have many wonderful memories of the times we four spent together over the last 27 years.

We had six fabulous weeks in Australia in 1994 at the World Masters Games. There were many, many nights of great dinners with Garry entertaining the waitresses with his hilarious banter.

We remained friends and when Garry and Anne came to Toronto from Grand Bend they stayed with us. For the past ten years we spent Christmas together.

Over the years as Garry's health declined Anne was his loving companion and devoted caregiver. She stiil managed to get them to Spain for the winter each year...no easy feat. Just a few weeks before his final stay in hospital they went to Los Vegas as they both enjoyed travelling so much.

For most of the 8 weeks Garry was ill Anne stayed in Stratford so she could be by his side. They watched the hockey and baseball games together one of their favourite pastimes.

Rest in peace Garry we will miss you.

Although our paths crossed many times at the Toronto Board, I did have one opportunity to work with Garry for a very short period of time.....the two week induction program at Sackville St. Jr. School in June of 1961. I was replacing Garry on the staff of Sackville School in the Fall of that year and Garry was returning to McMaster to complete his degree. I really enjoyed meeting Garry and working with him for those two weeks. He was a popular, well liked teacher by both staff and students, a characteristic that I know continued throughout his career with the Toronto Board.
My sincere condolences.

I feel like I have lost a brother. Garry and I did so many things together - rugby, football, hockey, golf trips, visits to Spain, trips to the Legion where Lum held court. Sometimes we had a drink together.
So many great memories!

Deepest condolences to both of Lum's families.

I am very sorry to learn of the "Lum's" passing. He certainly didn't fit the politically correct mould of Toronto Principals, which from my standpoint was great. He was a beach boy and someone I also remember fondly as a constituent.
Please accept my sincere sympathies.
