GARY CADARET Obituary

CADARET, GARY WILLIAM (Known as Caddy or Cats) January 31, 1944 - January 20, 2022 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary, with his wife and children by his side. He is survived by the love of his life Pat of 59 years of marriage, his children Troy, Kim (Mike) and Shari (Brett), his grandchildren Tyler (Serena), Brett (Kirstin), Connor, Chris, Jamie and Shane. And great-granddaughter Ivy. He was a loving dedicated husband, father and Papa. His quick wit and great sense of humour was definitely one of his best qualities. He was that fun "Papa" that everyone wished they had. He was also a great guy and a good friend to many. He raised his family in Markham, where he was an active member of the community. Gary coached hockey and baseball for many different leagues in town. He also played hockey in the M.M.H.L. for many years and developed many friendships through this league. He loved to golf and went on many golf trips with friends. Gary worked at CN for 35 years and continued doing contract work with CN long after his retirement. He was a brakeman, conductor, locomotive engineer, rules instructor and eventually manager of Operating Practices Western Division. He loved all of his work positions, but always had a soft spot for the running trades and was a dedicated hardworking man. There will be a small funeral by invite only due to COVID restrictions, but please feel free to join the family via livestream on the Dixon Garland website on February 5th, at 10:30 a.m. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Online condolences can be made through the Dixon Garland Funeral Home at: www.dixongarland.com In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Gary can be made to the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre at: www.southlake.ca/foundation
