MARR, GARY (GARFIELD) Gary (Garfield) Marr passed away, on Thursday, February 2, 2023, just days after his 82nd birthday. He is survived by his wife of more than 54 years, Vicky (née Palahicky); sisters-in-law, Marlene Palahicki and Helen Palahicky; brother-in-law, Jerry Longenecker; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Gary had one sibling, Daniel. Raised in Toronto, Gary attended high school at Pickering College and graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Engineering. His career spanned several decades and included Shell, Nestle, the Toronto Reference Library and Centennial College. Gary enjoyed woodworking and was proud of the several pieces of furniture that he made for their home. He and Vicky loved to travel, going to Europe, the Caribbean, as well as annual trips to Mexico. He also enjoyed the Briarcrook neighborhood get-togethers as well as hosting large family dinners, with carol-singing, on Christmas Eve. Gary's greatest love, after Vicky, was golf. He was a member at Weston Golf and Country Club for more than 40 years. Gary served on the board of directors and as club captain, and supervised a large expansion to Weston in the 90s. Gary also enjoyed playing cards at the club, and going there for dinner and dances with Vicky. A Funeral Service will be held at Turner & Porter, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto, on Thursday, February 9th, at 11 a.m. Luncheon will be served following the service. Interment will take place at a later date. Online condolences may be made through
