GEORGE ROBERT WILKINSON

WILKINSON, GEORGE ROBERT Peacefully, on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga. George, in his 90th year, beloved husband of Pat for 61 years. Loving father of Wendy (Ronald) Taylor and Steve (Nancy Parker) Wilkinson. Loved grandpa of Shane Taylor. Dear brother of Ruth Gourley (Barry). George was predeceased by his brother Winston. George will forever be remembered for his love of family, sailing, farm tractors, ministry and psychology, a discipline in which he achieved a Ph.D. at the University of Waterloo after attending universities in Guelph, Ottawa and Lansing, Michigan. He was an ordained minister, but as a psychologist, he eventually entered private practice after serving as director of counseling at Seneca College in the 1970s and '80s. Throughout, he cultivated his love of sailing, belonging to the club in Brighton, ON, where he was a regular on the racing circuit. Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, 905-877-3631, on Friday from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
