GERALD MURPHY It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Murphy on Sunday, June 12, 2016. Dearly loved husband of Patricia (nee Buttifant) for 66 years. Cherished father to Garry and Cheryl Smith (Peter). Proud grandfather who adored his grandchildren: Jeffrey (Andrea), Gregory (Lindsay) and Caryn (Cory). Gerald was an exceptionally proud great- grandfather to Abigail, Taylor, Ryleigh and Cara. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Pickering Village (Ajax), 905-428-8488, on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel at 11 a.m. Cremation. Donations may be made to the Tony Stacey Centre. Online condolences may be placed at www.mceachniefuneral.ca

I have fond memories of staying with Uncle Gerry and Aunt Pat when my mom was ill. I'm sure Cheryl and I drove him nuts with our giggles and non stop chatter yet Uncle Gerry was always kind, friendly and very patient with us. He will be missed by many.
