Just came upon this news tonight. I was a student at Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ontario from 1973 to 1975. Glenn was my instructor and quickly became a friend. Glenn worked so hard to get and give the best to his students. He was an amazing man with gift for movies and radio. He threw some of the most amazing after school parties at his apartment near the Fort William Gardens. They were legendary. He was kind, sincere and caring. I lost touch as most do and mourn his loss tonight. I raise a single malt to you Glenn. Dave Grant

Glenn was my instructor at Confederation College for 2 years around 1974. Graduated with my film “A Decent Burial” which the college uploaded to Vimeo. So many memories of Glenn, many by the students in those years. Judy Paul assisted on the course, who has posted here.
Glenn was the founding President of the Canadian Film Editors Guild. (CFE). Glenn could hustle. He stressed employment after graduation with a Film Advisory Board which consisted of working professionals in Toronto. It was through Jerry Lawton, Exec Producer of CTV that I networked my first job in Toronto. Thanks to Glenn. I was hired in Hollywood and lost touch with Glenn over the decades. I miss him. Sad to hear of his passing. Condolences to the family. He was a trail blazer in film. Kind, with beautiful voice, wit, charm and sense of humor.
Photo I took: Glenn with the College production van, Canadian actor Gordon Pinsent who kindly did a cameo on a student film. I always treasure this moment. Glenn really cared about his profession as an instructor. He had the career background that was respected.

There are many names and faces that have scrolled through our memories of people in the film business. Glen Ludlow is one that I remember as sort of a "mentor" to all of us - even to we that were a bit more advanced. I am quite happy to admit even that my memories of Glen, here in Edmonton, are memories of hi weathered, smiling, friendly demeanor - in a mainly social arena. He was always very eager to suggest extremely knowledgeable ways of solving our production problems or support and encourage us for our accomplishments. Glen, your memory will always be a part of our collection of great memories.

Glenn had a passion for film and our industry that few could match. He shared that passion with the many students who were lucky enough to have Glenn as a teacher and mentor. For those of us old enough to remember, he played a key role in the development of the Alberta Film Industry in the late 70's/early 80's. Glenn, you have touched so many over your lifetime .... you deserve a rest. Imagine you're working on a great script right now! Till we meet again.

I agree, Glenn was a fun and creative instructor in the film department. I remember his anecdotes about working on the "Littlest Hobo" TV series.

Our family's thoughts and prayers are with Glenn's family at this time. I was fortunate to have gone to SAIT during Glenn's employment there and as Vince Byfield said, there were so many 'Ludlow-ism's' to remember. Rest well, Glenn...it appears from the people you touched, your work continues to live on.

1986...Calgary...Suddenly Hollywood in the flesh showed up and changed everything for me. "Hey Babe..." the lightly held cigarette and the aviator sunglasses completed the package. Thanks to Glenn, SAIT Film broke into drama and opened up a whole new world for us all. Crazy films like "The Cord" were made with his full support. A true mentor and a great friend. I will miss you Glenn. God Bless.

"Hey babe, nothin's written in stone." This was my favourite Ludlow-ism, but there are many. You were a lot of fun to learn from, Glenn, and I hope you are having a fantastic time right now in that great casting party in the sky. I look forward for more fun times with you in the here-after!

I was sorry to hear of the passing of Glenn, but it brought rushing back a flood of wonderful memories from my time at SAIT. Glenn always enjoyed getting together with the students outside of the teaching environment, and his stories were enthralling to a bunch of "green behind the gills" kids. We hung on his words. Glenn's informal style of teaching made him a beloved mentor. I will toast your life and honour your memory.

One of my favourite memories of Glenn, of which there are many is the time when he directed our student crew in the making of "Bush Camp" To all those who were there I hope you remember it as fondly as I do. We were a bunch of kids following our dreams and Glenn was steady at the helm and always ready to "hoist" one!!! I learnt a lot in my two years at SAIT and will always fondly remember being one of your "Hopheads", Here's to you Glenn, thanks for being my teacher.

It is with great sadness I learned of the passing of a fondly remembered teacher, Glen Ludlow. In '88 I was a student of his in the CTSR program at SAIT - I will never forget his quips like: "hey babe, take a note". He was a dedicated artist who loved the film industry. He will be sadly missed.

I was sorry to hear about Glenn, I learned a lot from him and always looked forward to him dropping by the CSIF and sharing a tale or two. I'll always remember his grin and his great zest for life, he inspired me as he inspired many. Our community lost a great man, may his spirit be in peace and his loved ones find comfort.

We will all miss Glenn. His leadership and contributions to the 47th Bomb Wing & 47th Bomb Wing Association of which he was President when we visited Great Britian was appreciated by all of his comrades. His service to the United States Air Force was voluntary and greatly appreciated by all. May he rest in peace.

I first met glenn when my wife, Judith and I attended our first reunion of the 47th Bomb Wing Assn. in Washington, D.C. shortly after 9/11. Judith and Glenn shared their interest in TV, etc. I have a copy of his video "Cold War Remembered" which he made of the B-45 and it's importance during that peiod of history. He will be missed.

How sad it is to hear of Glenn's passing. He was just starting as an instructor at the CTSR program at SAIT when I went there in 1985 and we soon became fast friends.
In fact he was instrumental in me starting work in the film business for the next 16 years through introductions he made for me. I will always remember his "hand on hip" stance as he smoked a cigarette and pontificated on his experiences.
A true character who will be sadly missed.
See you our next lives my old friend.

I was so very sorry to hear about Glenn's passing. On Christmas eve we set up his turntable and played some old jazz records. It was soon to loose a new friend and co-worker. May your soul be free and at peace Brother Glenn.
