Dear Olive and Family we are sorry for your lose. We left Carlton in 1997 but over the years we and our children have thought of you often. We look forward to seeing Gord again The Parsons Family

Gord Cunningham was there for us when we needed a spiritual hug. We enjoyed his humour, his down to earthy ness and his stories! Truly, one of the pillars of the hall. Always made you feel loved and wanted. He took our kids out in service when they were young. He even had to put the car seat in his vehicle. We were so surprized he volunteered to do so. They came back with wonderful stories about his calls. What a great thing to do for a family with young children. He made the congregation human and not a set of rules. He was real and you could be real with him. A great example to all of us and will miss him terribly till re-united in our wonderful future paradise.

Dear Grandpa, I miss you so much , you were the greatest great grandpa I have ever had. I wish I was there to say goodbye, I should of came a day sooner. You were such a good brother you truly loved Jehovah until your last breath. I hope to see you in paradise grandpa. I'll always miss your jokes, long phone calls, cards, and visits. I keep you close to my heart because I wear the gold necklace you gave me that says "I love you" all the time. I love you xoxox forever and always your "Kingdom Hall Doll"

Gord was like a spiritual father to me and I've known him for over 20 years. He used to say that I was part of the "rat pack" since us sisters spent so much out time together in service. I got to hear about all the wonderful stories such as that he was baptised in the basement in the Gerrard/Carlton congregation where he attended for over 60 years. He was wonderful and kind and always offered rides and did favours for the elderly sisters.
I will miss you Gord and look forward to seeing you soon in the Paradise. Lots of love, Barb Edwards and family.

Nothing terribly profound to write other than a little experience that endeared me to Brother Cunningham.... Few of us are ever so blessed, so as to have a grandfatherly figure like this as a fixture in our lives. My first memory of Brother Cunningham was when our Congregation (Carlton) was shifted back in the early 90's due to Territorial boundary changes... The first meeting in the Gerrard Congregation was Epic to say the least.... In the first Service Meeting part after the Announcements, Br. Cunningham had a part entitled..., "Breathing This World's Air Is Death Dealing" (something very close to that, I'm pretty sure). He conducted a good portion of his part with a Gas Mask- complete with canister, a tank and a backpack breathing apparatus. Half the Congregation (including myself) was on the floor.... The other half were individuals who were already with and knew him in Gerrard or those who were too uptight to just appreciate his teaching technique and the way in which his illustration was meant to be grasped. In the end, he DID take it off, because someone in the audience helped us to appreciate that it wasn't the literal air that we were to be concerned with as Christians.... (Ephesians 2:2). It was a beautiful teaching technique and it endeared me to this Brother from Day #1... Perhaps there were some who didn't quite understand or appreciate this sense of humour, but for me- it was one of those unique things about HIM that made him GORD....! I look forward to an eternity (if I am so privileged)- to enjoy that sense of humour: his playful puns, whimsical quips & more..., . Sleep my dear Brother for just a little while longer until we meet again.............

Olive and the Cunningham family, although we knew Gord was quite sick it was with alot of sadness we heard the news. He never changed in the 38 years we knew him-- ever faithful, enduring, loving and oh, how we will miss his stories. He would always say endurance is the key, my brother (sister) and he was the epitome of patient endurance. We will patiently await the time that we all can be together in the world that is new. In the meantime, we sincerely think of you all with loving thoughts and prayers. The Shepards

Here was a man that endured all that life could throw at him and he never complained. My oldest Brother, a good friend, sleep on until you hear the call. Ron
