Gordon WOLFE Obituary

WOLFE, Gordon David It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of Gordon Wolfe announce his passing on February 20, 2018 at the age of 60 years old. Gordon had bravely fought both Amyloidosis and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma for the past few years, with grace and dignity. Gordon was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. He attended the University of Alberta and it was there he met his future wife, Wendy. They made the perfect pair and were married November 8, 1980 in Melfort, Saskatchewan. In 1987, Gordon and his family moved to the lower mainland of Vancouver, British Columbia. Gord successfully built his career along with his business partner, Mike Hacquard, in the automotive industry, following the paths of his father, uncle and grandfather. Gord enjoyed all sports and was particularly active in tennis, skiing and golf. He was an active member at the Hollyburn Country Club. In recent years Gordon found peace and happiness riding the bike trails of Scottsdale, Arizona and cruising along the bicycle paths of San Diego's bays. Gordon was an amazing husband and father with an infectious smile and great sense of humour. He was truly a family man, who took great pride in cheering his daughters on from the sidelines and supporting them in all of their endeavours. Gordon will be forever, lovingly remembered by his wife Wendy and his two daughters McKenzie and Callais along with her husband Kyle and Gordon's first grandchild sweet Cruise. He is also survived by his older brothers Bob (Carrie) and Don (Linda) and his sister Mary. A celebration of Gordon's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the West Vancouver United Church, 2062 Esquimalt Avenue, West Vancouver, BC V7V 1S4, with Reverend Dal McCrindle officiating. Immediately following a reception at the Capilano Golf and Country Club, 420 Southborough Drive, West Vancouver, BC V7S 1M2. Everyone welcome! As a loving gesture to Gordon, please wear a touch of blue! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gordon's memory to The Amyloidosis Foundation and/or The Vancouver General Hospital.
