Grace SALTZMAN Obituary

SALTZMAN, Grace "Audrey" Ford (nee MODELAND) April 23, 1930 - February 12, 2018 Audrey has taken the hand of her beloved Al. Together once again, they are dancing to the music of Jimmy Dorsey in Heaven's ballroom. After a courageous battle through a series of illnesses, Audrey passed as she had hoped, at home, peacefully and with family at her side. Left to celebrate Audrey's life are her children: Fred and wife Heather, the Reverend Julia Ford and wife Colleen O'Toole and Robert and wife Catherine Campolin. Missing Grandma Audrey are her absolute pride and joy, grandchildren Carolin and Timothy Ford and step-grandchildren Karl and Joseph Hatlett. Sisters-in-law Isabelle Ford and Virginia Ford, brother-in-law Ken Millard, cousin Paddy McIntyre and her Ford, Millard and Fisher nephews and nieces also survive Audrey. She will be greatly missed by dear friends Kim, Eleanor, Patty and Lydia. Audrey is also survived by her step-children Earl and Paul Saltzman. Audrey was predeceased by husbands Alan Ford (1988) and Percy Saltzman (2007), sister Shirley Millard (2017) and parents Grace McIntyre (1983) and B. Russell Modeland (1930). With Audrey's passing, we've lost a funny, generous, feisty and courageous Mom, Grandma and friend. Our loss is Heaven's gain. Visitation will be Monday, February 19th from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, February 20th from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at St. Dunstan of Canterbury Anglican Church, 56 Lawson Road, Scarborough, Ontario. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. at St. Dunstan's following the visitation. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to McEachnie Funeral Home (905-428-8488). The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Team, particularly Lavern and Sondra, for their assistance and support during Mom's final journey at home.

Audrey attended our church in Willowdale and knew that I had become a house painter in retirement and that is how I came to paint for Audrey and Percy. We became good friends and enjoyed each other's company. Audrey was a lovely, caring lady. Hearing of her passing, I am sad for all her family who will miss her so much, but I have many good memories. I hope you will think of Audrey and smile.

To: The family of Audrey,
It's never easy to say goodbye to the ones we love but as time goes by, it gets a little easier, know that the family is in our prayers. I remembered the first time I made stake for Audrey and she said " Sue you cooked it to death" and we had a good laugh.
