Gwendoline Languay Obituary

LANGUAY, Gwendoline 'Gwen' Eveleen (nee Freeman) - Passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton in her 96th year. She was born on December 17, 1913 in Hamilton, where she married Francis (Tim) Languay in 1932, who predeceased her in 1970. Gwen will be missed by her youngest son Peter Languay (Marcia) of Alberta, B.C. and was predeceased (2000) by her son, Jimmy Languay (Alfreda). She will be sadly missed by her grandaughter Caroline Languay (Les Smith) of Ancaster and their children Georgia and Jimmy. Gwen was a much-loved aunt to Ron Freeman (Joan) of Hamilton. Gwen is also survived by her granddaughters, Joanne Languay (John Irvine) and their children, Hilary and Paige, and Valery Languay, of Ancaster, nephews, Bob Freeman, Stewart Freeman, Dennis Freeman, and niece, Kimberly Freeman. Gwen is predeceased by her older brother, Gordon Freeman and his wife, Winnie. Many thanks to Carol Gunnell (Jim) for her many dedicated years of service, which enabled Gwen to live on her own until very recently. Also, many thanks to Dr. Anna Boyle and the wonderful and caring staff at St. Joseph's Hospital. Cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to Kitching, Steepe & Ludwig Funeral Home, Waterdown (905-689-4852). All who knew Gwen knew that she had a very special place in her heart for animals. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA, for spaying and neutering cats and dogs.
