H. Patrick GLENN Obituary
LL.D. honoris causa (Fribourg), Docteur en droit (Strasbourg), LL.M. (Harvard), LL.B. (Queen's), B.A. (UBC). Peter M. Laing Professor of Law, McGill University. Passed away suddenly on October 1, 2014, in Sherbrooke, QC at age 74. Son of John and Elinor; and brother of Jan Marshall. Beloved husband of Jane; loving father of Shannon (Martin) and Jeremy; doting grandfather of Carey Patrick Smith; and close cousin of Michael (Illa) and Dennis (Joanne) Maher. His presence, always discreet in manner but significant in substance, will be sorely missed. His family, his colleagues and his friends will always keep the memory of the twinkle in his eye and of his unfailing gentleness. A private funeral for family and close friends will be held at Calvary United Church, Sutton, Quebec, on Friday, October 10, 2014. A memorial service will be held in his honour in Montreal at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.

Jane,
Pat was a great supporter of MAUT and McGill and always provided sound advice with a smile and a twinkle in his eye regardless if it was positive or negative. I always remember him advising me on a matter by saying that "Yes, you are right and natural justice is on your side, but how much justice can you afford". We then planned a win-win I had not considered. I am sure that all of McGill misses him greatly as do I. My sincerest sympathies for your loss.

Prof. Glenn, I was very saddened to hear that H.P. had passed away. I have many fond memories of him from my years at the Faculty of Law, Dean's Office. My sincere sympathies to you and your family.
