Hamish Kippen Obituary

KIPPEN, Hamish - Our wonderful, brilliant and talented Hamish was tragically taken from us on October 21, 2008. Beloved son of James and Annette (née Sanger), and adored brother of Alice and Mairi. In his 21 years, Hamish's star shone intensely brightly: gymnast, diver, musician, and photographer. His loss is immeasurable to all who loved and admired him. He will remain in our hearts forever.

I recall the day you told me you were quitting school, and we all knew it was because you kicked its butt already and the world needed you elsewhere. You would have been one of the biggest names in the business. I am glad I got those few short years with you. I will really miss you and your work. Love.

He was a man that I was fond of! We played together at Danforth for 5 years and I thought of him as a true friend!

Hamish had such a big heart and the energy to match. He had a quick whit and a smile that lit up a room. His death is a loss for us all. My thoughts are with his family and friends in this very sad time.

Hamish and I only met this past summer, but we hit it off well and got the opportunity to spend time together in both Toronto and NYC. It was a new and exciting friendship that I was looking forward to develop and strengthen.
As many have said, he had such charisma and was so bold.
My heart pours out to his family, especially his 'fierce' sister.
Much Love

Hamish, your star did shine bright. It was intense, it was blinding, it was warming, it was all consuming. The first time we met, you pushed me to the dance floor and said, "I know who you are and I don't care...let's dance!" It was this boldness, this free spirt, that drew everyone to you and you to everyone. Your star is still shining, just in another place. Missing you,
