Our deepest condolences to the Houston Family. I just heard the sad news today of Dr. Houston passing. We were lucky to have her deliver our twins almost 5 years ago and she was an amazing OBGYN. We had an amazing experience. R.I.P Dr. Houston.

I met Dr. Houston just moments before the birth of my first grandchild. That was all the time I needed with her to feel the most wonderful spirit that radiated from her. Dr. Houston has left a mark in my heart and spirit. My deepest and sincere sympathy to Dr. Houston's family.

My heartfelt sympathies for your loss. I was deeply saddened by the news. Dr. Houston was an amazing doctor and human being. I had her for both my pregnancies and I couldn't have received better care than what she gave. My two girls are blessings and she was part of helping that happen. Dr. Houston was always smiling, pleasant, energetic and full of life. May God bless her husband and four children and give them the strength to get through this difficult time but also have peace knowing that she has truly gone to good place.

Please accept my families deepest sympathy. I was also one of the lucky ones who had Dr. Houston as my doctor during both of my pregencies. I had my son a week after Dr. Houston stopped practicing and during that last week, I gave her an angel. I thought this was a suitable gift for someone I considered to be an angel on earth.
She will be truly missed.

To all of you:
When one person in the family is missing, the whole world suddenly seems very depopulated. There is never a right time to be without your mom; not when you're young and not when you're old. It takes a lot of courage to accept the things that we cannot change and I am still in awe at how gracefully your mom accepted what she couldn't change. Her love for you all was unconditional and she will so want you to put one foot in front of the other and move forward..she will want you to love each other, be kind to each other, and be there for each other. She gave you a gift, and that is, each other. Your mom lived a lot and accomplished a lot in her short life and achieved so much. She leaves big footsteps for you to follow in and although you can't see her hand to guide you through your life, I feel confident that she will be looking over you every minute of every day from above. Be strong like she was and enjoy each day as she did. Every new day is a gift and the first day of the rest of your life. I feel so fortunate to have known your mom and I hope I was able to make a little difference whe she needed it most.

Dear Dave, Laura, Kevin, Buddy and Andrew; Mom Houston, Ian and Bev;
We are writing this from Florida as we are on holiday until next week. Our sadness over Heather's death isn't dulled by the distance.
There are so many people who will miss Heather but there are few who got to call her wife, mom, daughter and sister. Even though we, who called her friend and Doctor will ache because of her absence, we can't imagine how it must feel to be her family.
Our thoughts and love go out to you all.
Fondly,
Mary and Paul McNab

On behalf of my family please do accept our deepest sympathies on the very sad loss of your dear wife and mother. I had the joy of working with Heather for a few years at YCH, she always had a smile for everyone and her patients loved her. She would often be seen "flying" along the hallways of the hospital, all who had the pleasure of meeting and working with Heather as staff, colleagues and patients would agree that her smile and vibrant personality would live on.

Dear Dave & Family,

My deepest, heartfelt sympathy goes to you in the passing of your wife and mom. She was a wonderful testament to the human spirit, and was a constant source of humour, joy and cheer during my twin pregnancy. Her light will live on in each of you, and the thousands of happy babies she helped bring into this world.
Thank you, Heather.
God bless.

Deepest sympathy to Heather's family. I am very saddened today. Heather was a wonderful person and great Doctor. Heather delivered both my daughters (Allyssa 4 years and Angelina 20 months). Allyssa would not be here today if it wasn't for Heather's outstanding professional skill and knowledge. She brought my daughters into this world and I am deeply grateful. Heather was very dedicated to your patients. Her compassion and warm personality drew people to her. She was not only a Doctor but a very special women. I will miss her.

I am so sorry for your loss. She was an amazing doctor, I received such great care with my 2 pregnancies. I remember her with endless energy, always happy and smiling - even when performing my c-section to deliver my daughter in December 2004 - she told me not to worry, I'd still be able to wear a bikini!! She will be missed!!

I will have the most wonderful memories of your mother. She gave me the two greatest gifts of my life. From the moment I met her I knew she was special. She was everything rolled into one. So full of life and always a smile on her face. Her energy was electric. She had life balance all figured out. She loved her family and her job.

She delivered both my children and help us through some trying times in between. I will always be greatful to her for her compassion and ablity to help me through it all. She was the best doctor I have ever had. I feel blessed to have known her.

While I know God has a plan, some are more troubling than others. I am having a hard time understanding how someone so wonderful could be taken so soon. We need more people like her in our lives. I guess that just means she was needed in a better place.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this very difficult time. Heather will always have a special place in our family.

Heather endured her illness with grace, dignity and courage.

I am very saddened to hear of Heather's passing. I have 7 children and Heather delivered 5 of them. It was always a pleasure to visit with her during my appointments. Her enthusiasm and cheerfulness was inspiring and I always felt comforted on the day of delivery that Dr. Houston would be there at the hospital when I arrived. We shared many experiences of our children's happenings during our visits and in many ways she was more than just my OB. I have especially thought of her lately and missed her as my due date approaches for baby #8. I know she would have loved to be there for the delivery, as I of coarse would have loved to have her present.
Such is this life on earth... and I pray that God would carry you, Dave, and your children (whom I've heard so much about) through this time of grief. May he also give you and your children the strength to carry on. She was truly a special person who's life touched so many... and seemed to end too soon..
However, I am certain the memories that she has left behind will bring smiles to your faces and give courage to carry forward.
Love, Mary and Petri Hotari and children.

I was saddened to hear from a friend today that Heather had passed away.

To this friend, Heather was a medical miracle worker, the first physician to treat her chronic ailments with the sensitivity and diagnostic accuracy that allowed her return to good health.

I had the subsequent pleasure to meet Heather a few Decembers ago when she came into Hockey Heaven, our store in King City at the time, to purchase Christmas gifts for her son who was a big Martin Brodeur fan. As a customer, she impressed me with her bright and positive personality, which reflected her enthusiasm and love for her children. This memory stayed with me to the point that whenever I see a Brodeur hockey card or other product imprinted with his image, I can't help but think of Heather.

My sincerest sympathies go out to Dave and her children at this sad time.
