HELEN GREEN Obituary
HELEN BISSET GREEN (nee MITCHELL) The family is mourning the loss of Helen Bisset Green, the daughter of Neil and Helen Mitchell who was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon Albert Green. Helen died peacefully at Shepherd Village on January 20, 2015 at 93 years of age. She leaves behind her son Harold Green with his wife Marie Josee Lafontaine and her daughter Debbie with her husband Bob McNeice; her granddaughter Melanie with her husband Mark Daley along with her two great- granddaughters Caitlin and Emily; her grandson Bradley with his wife Erikah along with her great- granddaughter Ceilidh; as well as her granddaughter Amanda and her partner Sean. Helen touched many lives while she was with us. When she was young she got her first job and moved to Toronto Island with a few girlfriends where she had a wonderful time. She was a nurse during the second world war and met her husband Gordon Green at a dance that was held for the returning soldiers. She was an integral part of many school committees and senior citizen groups and was always there for everyone to depend on. She loved line dancing and playing cards with her friends. During her last years, she lived at Shepherd Village and enjoyed socializing with other residents as well as the Bible Study gatherings. Most of all Helen loved being at family gatherings where she could count her blessings by being with her grand and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She will be missed by many. There will be a visitation at 10 a.m. and the service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 in the chapel at Shepherd Village. (3760 Sheppard Ave. E., near the intersection of Kennedy Rd. and Sheppard Ave.). We would like to thank the staff of Shepherd Village for for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shepherd Village.
