SCANLON, HELEN Peacefully with loved ones by her side, Helen went to join her loving son, David, as well as caring parents, Adolfa and Hemel Lewchuk in Heaven on Sunday, July 17, 2022. Helen, at the age of 88 years, is the cherished wife of Joe for 68 years. Dear mother of the late David and wife, Cindy, Tom and wife, Susie, Sue and husband, Cam, Joe, and Debbie and husband, Paul. Dear sister of Leda and husband, Bob. Beloved grandma of Patrick (Aisling), Danielle (Jeff), Jeffrey, Paige (Justin), Holly (Mark), Brooke, Laura (Ryan), Robert (Kassandra), Jennie, Andrea, Jack, Christina, and Alanna; great-grandma of Hugo, Althea, Quinn, Liam, Aidan, Greyson, Dean, Axel, Avila, Christopher, Lucas, Owen, Colin and Sophia. Helen is survived by her many extended family members, including in-laws, nieces and nephews. Helen was known for her ever-present smile. She was a supreme hostess who loved entertaining, celebrating many family and social get-togethers. Helen was a passionate gardener and an avid golfer. She won club championships and twice scored a hole-in-one. Helen was graceful under pressure, resilient, and brave throughout many health challenges over the years. Even after 68 years of marriage, her face lit up every time she received a kiss from husband, Joe. A Funeral Mass will take place at Saint Matthew Roman Catholic Parish in Oakville, on July 25, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Helen's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Anthony Daniel Parish, located in Kitchener.
