HELENE MAXWELL Obituary

HELENE MAXWELL Suddenly on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga. Beloved wife of Robert for 54 years. Loving mother of Jamie. Dear grandmother of Brandon. Predeceased by her brother Donald Smith. Dear sister-in- law of Lorraine Smith, June Lindsey, Bill Lindsey and she will be fondly remembered by their families. Helene was a volunteer with Dorothy Ley Hospice for many years. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd. (north of Lawrence Ave.), Weston, on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will be held in the chapel on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 3 o'clock. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Please visit our Book of Memories at www.wardfuneralhome.com

I am so sorry to hear of your loss of dear Helene. I have such fond memories of her smiling face lighting up the DLH office as she welcomed us to work every Thursday morning! She always was interested in all the 'goings on' and ready to jump in whenever and wherever help was needed.
I am honored to have known her and worked with her. Her light will always be part of The Dorothy Ley Hospice.

Bob and Jamie, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Helene. She was a fabulous lady and such a good friend to my Mom. I will always remember her fondly and with love. Unfortunately I was travelling in Italy when she passed, but I did light a candle for her in St. Mark's Basillica (in Piazza San Marco)in Venice. A big hug goes to you both and know that I am thinking of you. Love Paula
