Howard Moore Obituary

HOWARD MOORE (Lieutenant-Colonel) Passed away peacefully with family at his side on Friday, May 8th, 2009 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 76th year. Loving husband and best friend of Barbara for 53 years. Cherished father of Eileen (Roy), Sharon and Howard Jr. (Nicole). Adored Papa of Ashley, Nikki, Miles, Clive and Roland. Howard will be fondly remembered by brothers Jim (Ruby) and Clyde (Mary) and their families. Howard was a dedicated Salvation Army Officer for 55 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife and family to whom he was totally devoted. The family wishes to extend grateful thanks to the staff of the 6th floor Oncology Ward at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their care and compassion. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Tuesday, May 12th from 2 -- 4 and 7 -- 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at The Salvation Army Oshawa Temple (570 Thornton Road North, Oshawa) on Wednesday, May 13th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted for The Salvation Army Oshawa Temple or the Durham Region Cancer Centre.
