Mr. Vaughan was principal when I attended York Memo in the 70s. He was a kind person, who was always interested in what we were doing -- no matter how crazy it was. He liked to be out in the hallways, and always had a friendly word or two. In the year he retired, he was given the final line in the play and sang the final song with all us on stage. It was a lovely moment, and I am glad I was there to share in it. Rest in peace, Mr. Vaughan.
