DOYLE, Hugh Frederick (Paddy) - 1925 - 2010 On Monday. February 1, 2010 at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital in his 85th year. Paddy was born in Detroit, Michigan of Ottawa parents, Hazel and Harold Doyle. When his family returned to Canada he attended East Toronto schools, Coleman Ave., Gledhill and Malvern Collegiate. As a boy he attended Sunfish YMCA, on Lake Simcoe. He completed high school early in order to join the R.C.A.F. in World War II. After the war he briefly worked for Grand & Toy Stationary, before joining his father to establish Orthopedic Appliance Research Ltd. in 1948. The company is still a manufacturer and supplier of custom orthopedic braces managed by his son Sean and staffed by another son Kelly. He was a dedicated volunteer. He was a founding member of C.A.P.O., the Canadian Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists, an organization that flourishes across Canada since 1955. He was an energetic member of Parkwoods Civitan Club and his various Anglican parishes, St. Saviours, Toronto, St. Bede, Scarborough and after retirement All Saints' Anglican Church, Huntsville. He met his wife Georgi, a summer romance at Glenwood Beach, Lake Simcoe, which resulted in 61 years of a wonderful marriage, his 5 children Patricia, Sean, Tim, Terry and Kelly, 8 grandchildren Matthew, Alana, Mitchell, Jennifer, Ashley, Jamie, Georgia Kate, Kobe Kaden and 4 great-grandchildren Brandon, Joshua, Evan and Alyssa. He retired to Huntsville in 1994 and immediately became active in the Rotary Club theatrical productions and the Men's Breakfast Club at All Saints'. He was approached to expand the Toronto company and was instrumental in establishing Algonquin Orthopaedics in Huntsville. Visitation for Paddy Doyle will be held at the MITCHELL FUNERAL HOME, 15 High St., Huntsville, ON P1H 1N9, 705-789-5252, on Tuesday, February 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, February 3rd at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to AlI Saints' Anglican Church Huntsville or the Huntsville Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Paddy loved parties and so after the service, everyone is invited to his Irish wake at the Cottage Restaurant on the river at Main St. and John St., Huntsville. www.mitchellfuneralhome.ca

To Georgie and family
We were all sorry to hear about Paddy. He was such an energenic person when he took on a project at St. Bede's. Who could forget his Christmas cakes, so yummy. Both you and he served our church well!
