Ian LOCKHART Obituary

LOCKHART, Ian Paterson October 10, 1927 - April 30, 2022 Ian was born in Glasgow, Scotland and was very proud of his Scottish heritage. He immigrated to Toronto in 1951, and his wife, Betty, and baby daughter, Joan, followed a few months later. Ian worked as a manufacturing engineer, manager, and consultant until he retired. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed playing on courses at home and around the world. Predeceased by his loving wife, Betty; dear friend, Anne; and son, Gary (Leslie). Beloved by son, Craig; and daughter, Joan (Pat). Ian will be lovingly missed by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends. He was a true gentleman with a dry wit, a killer swing, and a generous heart. Private Celebration of Life to follow.

To all members of the Lockhart family
Wishing you moments of peace and comfort as you remember and celebrate the well lived life of Ian and his many contributions towards the betterment of society in Scotland and Canada.
He was a class act, a character of note and a man who represented the best in decency and goodness. My association with Ian centred around the game of golf at Mill Run and his long time membership in our Senior Men´s League. Ian loved his participation in our weekly games where he mentored many on the finer points of the game. The game was always that bit more enjoyable when Ian was part of the foursome. He was ,truly, one of the best who is still remembered fondly by the Mill Run golfing community. We all witnessed a life of great worth and value. Well done Ian ! You contributed so much and made a difference. Now rest in eternal peace with your beloved Betty and loved ones gone before.
Sincerely and with deep sympathy,
Tom O´Leary, Markham, On.

So sad to hear of Ian's passing. He was a dear friend. We played a lot of golf together over the years.
