IDA MARRELLI Obituary

MARRELLI, IDA June 13, 1935 - November 24, 2021 We lost our world, and heaven gained an angel on November 24, 2021, when the gates opened to reunite Ida Marrelli with her beloved husband Giuseppe Marrelli in Heaven, at age 86. Ida was strong, loving, funny, family oriented and showed love most through cooking and bringing everyone together around a table. Ida's story is long and wonderful, coming over by ship to Halifax Pier 21 from Italy when she was 19 years old with nothing more than whatever she could fit in her travel trunk, and nearly died from seasickness. She and Joe started to build a new life together. They didn't have much but they always provided a beautiful home for their 7 children, keeping them warm and well looked after. Ida was a beloved mother to Jim (Laurisa), Rose (John), Teresa (Mike), Frank (Andrea), Lily, Anna (Rick), and Paul (Monica). She loved each with all her heart and was the glue of our family. Her grandchildren Vanessa (Rick), Natalie (Justin), Christy, Stephanie, Matthew, Jonathan, Kyle (Katrina), Megan, Brianne, Rya, Carolyn, Adam, Ava, and Arielle, will forever hold a place in their hearts for their beloved Nonna. Ida was a treasured great-grandmother to Madison, Chloe, Sophie, Harrison, James, Jade and Bentley. Ida will be fondly remembered and held dear in the hearts of her many friends and family. To know her, was to love her. May she rest in peace. Friends and relatives will be received at DELMORO FUNERAL HOME, 61 Beverly Hills Dr. (1 light south of Wilson Ave., west of Jane St., 416-249-4499), on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. (The visitation will be offered to a 25-person maximum within the chapel, please see the Delmoro Funeral Home website for COVID-19 visitation and funeral mass guidelines.) A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at ST. JUDE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH (3265 Weston Rd.). Entombment to follow at WESTMINSTER CEMETERY (5830 Bathurst St.).

My eyes have been teary and all I see is my kind aunt Ida always smiling and asking how I was whenever I saw her. All the memories of the large barbecues at there home to celebrate my Uncle Joes birthday. Rest in paradise aunt Ida, you are an angel wherever you go.

What a beautiful tribute to Ida/ Nonna. Natalie you did a great job capturing the dash of your Nonna life.

Ida´s food was love and we were so blessed to have Teresa and Mike share her love. Teresa on special occasions would bring us Idas world class delicious Lasagna. We will always remember and be grateful.

May Ida Rest In Peace now and her loving memories will live on.
