TAYLOR, Jack Richard - Professional Engineer and longtime employee of Ontario Hydro Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 7, 1926. Jack passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Kay Taylor. Dear father of Cliff Taylor (Marion) of Scarborough, Keith Taylor (Sharon) of Ottawa, David Taylor (Isel) of Huntington Beach, California and Joan Airhart (George) of Newmarket. Cherished grandfather of Jaime (Kevin), Stacy (Morgan), Ross (Sara), Kelsey (Wilson), Regan (Luis), Amanda, Daniel and Gabriel. Great- grandfather to Jackson, Avery, Ryan, Cameron, Kadence, and Selina. Predeceased by his brothers Bill (Gladys) of Rochester, New York, George (Eunice) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Harry (Flora) of Calgary, Alberta and by his granddaughter Denise Tremblay (Scott). A celebration of Jack's life will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the MCDougall & Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Rd. (Scarborough, Ontario) 416-267-4656. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

I always admired and respected Jack as a professional engineer.
Even as a senior engineer he was capable of dealing with the technical details . He had a library of very good technical papers on many subjects . When I was struggling with a technical problem he would produce one of these papers some from the early 1940's that often showed the best path forward.
He was a great mentor. A good engineer and kind man.
