To Shirley and family, our sincere condolences, our thoughts are with you. Jake was the greatest person, fun, energetic, sincere, thoughtful, always ready to help, and he was my mentor through the Extendicare years. In the years after, I always enjoyed our lunches together. He will be sadly missed.

Shirley, I was saddened to learn of Jake's death.

Jake was always one of my favourite people at Extendicare. He taught me many things about design, construction, maintenance, and engineering that I couldn't have learned from any one else.
More importantly, he was always willing to help me, and he always did so happily. I never felt I was imposing, and he was a very busy man in those days.
My condolences to you and all your family.

I was always glad to see him again after he retired, and I was always reminded what a kind and generous man he was.
