Dear Dan an Family
We am so sad for your loss!
Jacob was a sincere and passionate personality with his own gifts and without any guile.
He was a talented Jewelery and I will treasure the string of peals he restrung for me so skillful and beautifully finished.
May he RIP and we will treasure his memory as I am sure you do

I would drive past him every morning and would always comment to my spouse about how passionate he appeared managing the hectic intersection.
We never met, nor talked (but I would see him every day and wait for his direction). He cared for and was passionate about keeping Winona and Benson safe.
If anyone from TPS (Toronto Police Servive) or a city councillor reads this consider a small tribute to him at the corner of Winona and Benson.

Thank you

Jacob was a mainstay of St Clair West. Morning dog walks along Winona and evenings in Wychwood dog park won't be the same without his warm greetings and conversation.
My deepest dearest condolences to your family.

Dear Cousin Danny, Palomba and Jacob's family, Jacob brought great happiness and love to those that knew him; that is evident. At this time, the memories might be too painful but hopefully some will put a smile on your face for he would want that. His passing reminds us to love and be there for each other, that life is fragile. We are sorry for your loss. Nanci told me. Love, Nina

Dear Yashinsky-Zavitz Family,
I was so sorry to read about the passing of dear Jacob. I was his Core French teacher for awhile at McMurrich P.S. while Madame Battaglia was on maternity leave. Jacob was a wonderful boy with a great sense of humour. He always brightened my day! I was so pleased to read that he grew up to be so versatile and accomplished. I am truly sorry for your loss and am sure that Jacob will be very much missed by everyone who knew him.

Dan, Carol, Nathaniel:
I remember this lovely young boy, who shared many a conversation about beads, at my office at TAC, and was overjoyed to receive one of his very first gifts. A simple red bracelet of seed beads and fishing thread. Absolutely thrilled to see how much he developed into an uber talented artisan, whose work I couldn't even afford. Words fail me to share a message of comfort. My wish is for him to soar with the angels, and dance with the ancestors, and be welcomed with love into Paradise and his Creator's embrace.

Very sorry to hear about Jacob. His work as a traffic warden in the St. Clair West/Benson Avenue area was approached with diligence, care and aplomb - I know 'cause when I drove West on a schooldays, he was there guiding kids safely across Winona Ave. Jacob once told me admired a leather belt pouch I wore on my own job at the Wychwood Barns. I had planned to give it to him... Never wait.

Dear Dan, Carol, Natty and all who loved Jacob,

Roberta and I have been away and just heard the awful news that Jacob has died. For many years, he was someone we would run into on St. Clair and chat with for a moment or two. But since I (meejum) retired, I have seen Jacob almost daily, as I walked on Winona to or from my studio. When i was there at a quieter time, we would have a bit longer to chat. We also had tables near each other at the Barns craft fairs this summer, and Jacob was a huge help to me. I am new to being an entrepreneur and he was so generous with his advice about marketing and pricing my jewellery, assuring me that we weren't competitors, but that we could help each other out. I was so looking forward to seeing him next Saturday and being the grateful recipient of his guidance.
Jacob will be sorely missed by an entire neighbourhood.
love,
Roberta and Meejum

Dan, I can't believe it. From the time Jacob and I first connected through my old dog Blanche, he became one of my treasured neighbourhood chums. It's just a few weeks ago we chatted on St. Clair. Old souls like Jacob's are few and far between and I will truly miss him.

The flower and picture tributes by children who are missing Jacob at his corner show that he made a wonderful impact on those he helped.
