JAMES GORRIE Obituary

JAMES GORRIE Jim died peacefully, age 71, at Toronto General Hospital on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from complications of leukemia and a stem cell transplant. Beloved husband of Teresa (Bianchi) and loving father of Jim Gorrie and Catherine Gorrie (Paul Best). Proud "Poppy" of Maddie. Dear brother of Beth Koski (Bill), Anita Eveleigh (Roy), Peter (Denise Morazé) and Paul (Janice). Forever in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Born in Toronto on September 12, 1943 to the late Lily and Peter Gorrie, Jim worked in the sheet metal trade. He married Teresa in 1968 and they lived on a small horse farm near Tottenham until retiring to Alliston. A quiet, steady man with a pun-derful sense of humour, he was active in hockey, golf, baseball and his community. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Briar Hill Community Centre, Alliston, from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, July 12th. For those who wish, the family would appreciate donations to the Good Shepherd Food Bank in Alliston or the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, 905-936-3477. RodAbramsFuneralHome.com
