James MULLIGAN Obituary
MULLIGAN, James Terrence (Terry) Husband, Father, Entrepreneur, Philanthropist and an all around wonderful man passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the age of 81. "Perfect" husband of Mary (née Brett) for 28 years, loving father of Jeff (1962-1975) and Lisa (Stephen Meyer) and "fabulous" step-father to Derek Woolverton (Sara Moffat) and Kim Woolverton (Alex Versluis). Proud Grandfather to Jack and Frances (Frankie) Meyer and amazing "Terry" to Anabelle and Abbey Woolverton and Jeffrey and Matthew Versluis. Terry was born in Niagara Falls in 1936, the youngest of 6 children to Ann and Patrick Mulligan. Predeceased by all siblings Betty Chalmers, Ed, Pat, Tom and Marji Mulligan, and is survived by many nieces and nephews. After graduating from trade school as an electrician in 1954, Terry continued his education by studying at Assumption University in Windsor, Ontario. Terry graduated with a B. Comm in 1959. He had a dynamic career and eventually started his own firm, Mulligan Marketing, a successful sales and promotion firm that he ran for over 30 years. Terry was a true gentleman. He was extremely principled, big hearted and valued family and friendships above all else. He could find the humour in any situation and his booming laugh was infectious. He enjoyed road trips to Boston to see the Celtics, to the University of Notre Dame to watch football and trips to Las Vegas. He supported many different causes and organizations that spoke to him. He gave freely with his time and money, was a retired member of the Dixie Lions Club, a current member of the Mississauga Business Man's Club and was just beginning to enjoy retirement (although he was still receiving orders! The sign of a great salesman…). There will be a "Celebration of Friendship" for Terry on Monday, June 4th from 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. at The Old Mill, Guildhall, 21 Old Mill Road in Toronto. Remembrances will begin at 2:00 p.m. Donations can be made in Terry's name to The SickKids Foundation, 525 University Avenue, Suite 835 Toronto, Ontario, Canada M5G 2L3.
