JAMES TESKEY Obituary

TESKEY, JAMES On July 5, 2022, James William Thomas Teskey, loving son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, died peacefully, after a long and difficult struggle with several illnesses. Jim was born in Toronto, the 7th of the 12 children of Helen Muller Teskey and Frank Teskey. Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sister, Denise Etele. Jim is survived by his loved children, Christopher and Jennifer; and his 4 grandchildren. Jim will be remembered by his sisters: Fran (Vince) Cosentino, Margot (Carl) Januszczak, Penny (Ian) Russell, Joan (Norm) Sparrey, Nancy (Reg) Bellomo; and his brothers: Bob (Anne Marie), Greg (Marilynne), Paul (Florence), Frank (Brenda), Steve (Laura); and brother-in-law, Tom Etele; as well as a plethora of nieces and nephews. Jim had a successful career in sales, first at the Eaton's College Street store where he was known for his friendliness, humour and generosity. These life qualities never really left him. For years he shaved his head every October to raise funds for the Terry Fox Campaign. His antics as the unknown Santa brought much joy over many years. Throughout his illnesses, Jim was supported by wonderful caregivers including those at the Heritage Nursing Home who became his family away from home. Jim is already in Heaven giving Mom and Dad and Neach a big hug for all of us. As per his request, cremation has taken place and there will be a Funeral Mass at St. Edward's Church in Toronto, on Thursday, August 4th, at 10:30 a.m. Donations may be made to any of Jim's favorite causes: The Terry Fox Foundation, The Calgary Children's Hospital and The Heritage Nursing Home.
