Jamieson Kuhlmann Obituary
KUHLMANN, Jamieson Joseph 1992 - 2008 With great sadness, yet with happiness for the wonderful life led, we announce the passing of a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew, friend and team-mate on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the Hospital for Sick Children. In Jamieson's short 15 years of life he touched so many and leaves innumerable fond memories with his mom, Michelle, his dad, Mark, his special step-mom Sharon, his sisters, Danielle and Robyn, Nana Pat and Papa Marty, Grandma Corinne, Aunty Heidi, Uncle Marty and Aunt Barb, Aunty Mary-Ellen and Uncle Dan, Uncle Dave, and so many other relatives, friends, team-mates and classmates, all too numerous to mention, but all in some way touched by Jamieson's big heart and soul. We would be remiss not to mention Harley, who relished Jamieson's gentle noogies. Jamieson's life was full of joy and endless adventures, this last year truly being the best of his life and one in which he came to be the best that he could be. One of his fondest memories, and one that he told endless stories of, was of the Hill Pride's romp through the Mecca of Lacrosse, Maryland and Washington. Jamieson and his small 16 man school team stormed through the fields of some of the best high schools in the U.S. The team's pinnacle was reached in their defeat of #1 ranked Loyola - Blakefield. Jamieson's personal pinnacle was reached when they visited Georgetown University, the school which Coach Brodie Merrill attended and in whose footsteps Jamieson dreamed of following. Jamieson left us doing what he loved most, playing the game of lacrosse with the Beaches, the club he called home since he was 4. He had defended his goal like a rock, and made his final run up the field, trusty long-pole in hand, with the same skill and determination he brought to all aspects of his life. He was at peace and he was content. May we hope and pray that Jamieson will find a pitch somewhere else to play on and be blessed with a similar group of fine young men and coaches that he was so honoured to play with here. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket and the Hospital for Sick Children, especially to Isaac for finally bending some rules and to Lynn for her wonderful guidance in helping to break the rules. You all provided a place of comfort and compassion for all of us, most especially for Jamieson. And last, but certainly not least, to all of the staff and students at the Hill Academy, especially big brother Dan Noble. If Jamieson left you with just a small fraction of what you gave him, then you will be all the better because of him. Visitation will be held at the SHERRIN FUNERAL HOME, 873 Kingston Road (west of Victoria Park), Toronto, on Sunday, May 25, 2008 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Jamieson's Life will be held at the Balmy Beach Club, Toronto (the foot of Beech Ave.), on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. Memorial donation would be most welcomed at the Hospital for Sick Children. Family and friends are invited to sign Jamieson's book of condolence at www.sherrinfuneral.ca.
