Mr. and Mrs. Van der luit were both very kind, warm, and welcoming to us on Sunday mornings during our years at St. Paul's. There was always a smile, a welcome, and some kind words shared. Thank you both for helping us feel like we belonged. I am so very sorry for you loss. That corner of the church will seem somewhat empty. Our sympathies to the entire family on the loss of a loving man.

Elizabeth and Family,
We were sorry to learn about Jan. Jan had Ray as an apprentice in GM. The old Ford he purchased from Ray many years ago. Ray always remarked about how he was always learning from Jan. Jan even recommended our building contractor, John Van Luling. We are still in the same house -over 50 years on Nov,22nd. This fall we met Jan at the grocery store in Oshawa. We had a good visit that day as we always did every time we met. Even though we are currently in Arizona, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hugs,

Jackie and Family,
Our heartfelt condolences on the passing of your father. We have heard many fond stories about him and his various hobbies like gardening. Like the time when he sent you through the Toronto airport with his home grown tomato plant. It was a great pleasure to meet him when he visited us in Newfoundland.
Your family is always in our thoughts and we are hoping that being with loved ones at such a time of grievance is making it easier. Please let us know if there is anything we can do. Take care!

Elizabeth and family, our sincere sympathy to you and your family on the loss of Jan. He was a remarkable man who enjoyed many pleasures in his life, like his dear family, friends, beautiful garden and his Model A. He definitely lived a life that should be celebrated and not mourned. Speak of Jan often, remember the great times and think of the impact he had on some life's, memories that will never change. Our hearts are broken now and in time will mend, but you will always have him with you as the two of you walked and lived as one in life, and you will continue, knowing he is with you always. Safe journey Jan, rest in peace. The Field Family

Jackie,
My condolences on your father's passing . I am glad that you can be with your family at this time. Families help us get through things that are difficult to handle alone. It was my good fortune to have the opportunity to meet your parents when they visited Newfoundland. I hope you take comfort in knowing that after everything settles, it's the memories that you keep alive in your heart. From the day we enter this world, it is our parents who help shape us into the people we become, and if I don't mind saying so Jackie, your father and mother did a good job there. If there's anything I can do for you while you are away from MUN, PLEASE do not hesitate to ask. Most of all, take care of yourself and your family, celebrate your father's life, and treasure the memories.
